Real Sociedad kept alive their Champions League hopes for next season as Xabi Prieto's double rescued a point against Real Madrid.
Madrid made a dream start to the match when Argentine Gonzalo Higuain struck after just six minutes.
However the Basque side rallied and had the better of the first half, with forward Imanol Agirretxe guilty of wasting numerous chances to equalise.
Jose Mourinho's side performed better in the second half and doubled their lead when Jose Callejon turned in Kaka's cross.
However Real Sociedad then showed why they are pushing for Europe as they levelled the match. Firstly Xabi Prieto converted a penalty after Sami Khedira handled inside the box, and then Antoine Griezmann's left-footed strike found the net.
Khedira made amends soon after though when he latched onto Mesut Ozil's through ball and calmly finished.
The drama continued and Prieto's 93rd minute header earned a point for the home side.
