Lucas Vazquez comes in for the Welshman alongside Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in one of two changes following the side's 2-2 draw at relegation battlers Levante a week ago - a result that has left Los Blancos 19 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Marco Asensio is also in the starting lineup, with Casemiro joining Bale on the bench, alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos as manager Zinedine Zidane resists the temptation to rest too many key players despite facing a last-16 Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain next week.

The back four of Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, skipper Sergio Ramos and Marcelo are unchanged ahead of Keylor Navas between the posts.

As for the visitors, Eusebio Sacristan makes two changes following the 5-0 thrashing of Deportivo La Coruna last time out, a result that ended a four-match losing streak in the league.

Willian Jose drops out of the matchday lineup and Igor Zubeldia falls to the bench as Sergio Canales and David Zurutuza join Xabi Prieto and Asier Illarramendi in the midfield.

Eusebio names Mikel Oyarzabal and Juanmi up front and fields an unchanged back four of Alvaro Odriozola, Aritz Elustondo, Raul Navas and Alberto de la Bella ahead of Geronimo Rulli in goal.
