AC Milan have reportedly set their sights on signing Real Madrid midfielder Isco, having tried to sign the Spaniard on previous occasions.
The 29-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, after arriving in Madrid from Malaga for £23m in 2013, and is said to have been keen on a move away from Los Blancos for some time.
AC Milan lost Hakan Calhanoglu to rivals Inter Milan on a free transfer, and now the Rossoneri have identified Isco as the Turkey international's direct replacement.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, in previous attempts to sign Isco, AC Milan have fallen short on the financial side of the deal, but Isco will now be affordable given his contract situation.
Real Madrid are believed to value Isco at £20m, however that fee could be further reduced with negotiations, and Isco's absence from the squad's return to training on Monday suggests that the player is close to a departure from the Spanish giants.
During his eight-season spell with Real Madrid, Isco has scored 51 goals and provided 56 assists in 336 appearances for the club. body check tags ::
