Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso has admitted that he 'does not know' if Real Madrid want to re-sign him.
The 23-year-old came through the youth system at the Bernabeu before joining Espanyol in the summer of 2017.
The Spaniard has impressed during his time with the Catalan outfit, and it has recently been reported that Madrid want to re-sign the defender at the start of 2019.
However, Hermoso, who made his Spain debut against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Sunday, has said that he is "very happy" at Espanyol.
"I do not know if there is interest from Real Madrid, I am very happy at Espanyol," Hermoso told Cadena Ser.
Hermoso, who is a former Spain Under-19 international, has scored twice in 12 La Liga appearances for Espanyol this term.
Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the defender.
