Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has reportedly not informed his club that he has decided to leave this summer to make the move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The France international can bring his current PSG contract to an end on June 30, and on Saturday, it was reported by Le Parisien that the forward had made the decision to join Los Blancos this summer.
Mbappe has allegedly chosen to make the move to Bernabeu on a free transfer, with the 25-year-old potentially making an announcement over the next couple of weeks.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the former Monaco youngster has not yet told PSG that he will be leaving at the end of the campaign to make the move to the Spanish capital.
The report claims that Mbappe has committed to informing PSG of his plans first, but the French side are currently unaware of any decision that has been taken by the Frenchman.
According to ESPN, neither PSG nor Real Madrid have been informed of Mbappe's decision, but a move to the 14-time European champions could potentially be announced as early as next week.
The report claims that Mbappe is likely to have to accept a 50% wage drop in order to move to Real Madrid, with the Spanish club unable to match PSG when it comes to a salary.
Meanwhile, it is understood that his departure from the French capital will see him give up bonuses of around €100m (£85.5m), with his reported decision to move to Real Madrid not a financial one.
PSG have allegedly already identified a potential replacement for Mbappe, with AC Milan's Rafael Leao viewed as their leading target for this summer's transfer window.
Mbappe has been in strong form for Luis Enrique's side during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 29 goals and registering seven assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Meanwhile, he has made 288 appearances for PSG in all competitions since his arrival from Monaco, scoring 241 goals and registering 105 assists in the process.
The attacker has won five Ligue 1 titles during his time in the French capital and is chasing a sixth crown this term, while he will be bidding to help the club win the Champions League.
PSG will take on La Liga outfit Real Sociedad in the last-16 stage of the competition, while they are in the last-16 stage of the Coupe de France.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have already won the Spanish Super Cup this season, and the club are chasing two more trophies in the shape of La Liga and the Champions League. body check tags ::
