Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to offer Kylian Mbappe a lucrative two-year deal to ward off interest from Real Madrid.
Mbappe has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid over the last few years, but a move to the Santiago Bernabeu has ultimately failed to materialise as of yet.
However, a recent report claimed that Mbappe was close to ending the transfer saga after making the decision to join Los Blancos on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
While Mbappe appears to be closing in on a move to the Spanish capital, PSG have not given up hope of retaining the Frenchman's services.
According to Le Parisien, via the Daily Mail, the Ligue 1 champions are ready to make Mbappe the highest-paid player in Europe.
The report states that the French giants are willing to offer the forward a two-year contract worth almost £70m after tax for each of the two seasons.
With PSG determined to keep their star man, they are also prepared to offer guaranteed bonuses and advertising contracts from Qatar.
Previous speculation has suggested that Mbappe has told Real Madrid that he wants to receive €50m (£43m) a year in order to join Carlo Ancelotti's side.
There was a belief that Mbappe would announce his intention to leave PSG before the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie against Real Sociedad on March 5.
However, Real Madrid are said to be concerned about the delay, as uncertainty continues to hang over the player's future.
With Mbappe yet to make an announcement, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi remained tight-lipped when he was asked about the striker's future ahead of Saturday's meeting with Lille.
"When we have both decided, we will tell you," Al-Khelaifi told reporters at the UEFA Congress in Paris.
While Al-Khelaifi gave little away, La Liga president Javier Tebas recently stated there is over a 50% chance that Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer.
Despite having to contend with speculation over his future, Mbappe continues to play a key role for PSG on the pitch, having registered 30 goals and seven assists in 29 competitive appearances this season. body check tags ::
