Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly still trying to retain the services of Kylian Mbappe, despite a transfer to Real Madrid looking increasingly likely.
With just six weeks remaining on his contract, PSG fear that they are going to lose their most prized asset on a free transfer and to one of their main European rivals.
On Monday, it was claimed that the World Cup winner had already agreed terms on a five-year contract at the Bernabeu, the move expected to be confirmed at some point next week.
However, according to The Athletic, who report the same development, PSG have not given up in their bid to keep the forward at Parc des Princes.
As it stands, it appears that Mbappe has rejected the opportunity for an astronomical pay rise and numerous bonuses to take on a new challenge in Spain.
From an individual standpoint, the France international has enjoyed the best season of his career, contributing 31 goals and 21 assists in Ligue 1 and the Champions League. body check tags ::
