Everton are reportedly on the verge of signing Jesper Lindstrom on a loan deal from Napoli.
Lindstrom scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in 80 competitive appearances during a two-year stint with Eintracht Frankfurt, before he completed a €30m (£25.2m) to Napoli last summer.
Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, he experienced a disappointing campaign with the Italian club after being presented with just two starts in 22 Serie A appearances.
Having found playing time hard to come, Lindstrom is now being offered the chance to leave Napoli and complete a switch to the Premier League.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Everton have reached an agreement to sign the attacker on a season-long loan deal with a buy option of €22.5m (18.9m).
The Toffees will pay a €2.5m (£2.1m) loan fee and will cover the player's full salary until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
Lindstrom has arrived on Merseyside to undergo a medical before he can be officially unveiled as Everton's second signing of the summer.
Bologna eyeing Hummels deal
Over in Italy, Bologna are working on a deal to recruit former Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels as Riccardo Calafiori's replacement.
Bologna are set to enter the market for a new centre-back, with Calafiori on the verge of completing a move to Arsenal.
According to Sky Sports, the Serie A side are currently in contact with Hummels after identifying the German as a potential target.
Hummels has already turned down offers from Ajax and Saudi Arabia, while there have also been links with Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid.
However, he is currently taking a few days to weigh up his options before he makes a final decision about his future.
The 35-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Dortmund upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Having made 90 Champions League appearances during his career, Hummels could prove to be a useful addition ahead of Bologna's foray into UEFA's elite club competition.
Trippier heading towards Newcastle exit
Meanwhile, back in England, Newcastle United are reportedly prepared to sell England international Kieran Trippier this summer.
Trippier was subject to an offer from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, but Newcastle ultimately rejected the proposal to keep the right-back for the remainder of the season.
However, according to The Northern Echo, the Magpies have changed their stance from the winter and are now ready to part ways with the defender.
Trippier struggled with form and injury in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign, allowing Tino Livramento to stake his claim as the club's first-choice right-back.
With Eddie Howe ready to put his faith in Livramento, Newcastle are reluctant to offer Trippier a new contract, with his deal set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season.
While Bayern are not expected to renew their pursuit, the defender is attracting interest from at least two clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
Trippier's potential suitors are set to hold talks with Newcastle in the coming weeks to discuss a potential deal for the 33-year-old. body check tags ::
