Real Madrid are reportedly 'very close' to signing Vinicius Junior to a new long-term contract.
The 21-year-old was a vital player for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 22 goals and registering 20 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions.
The Brazil international scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 35 La Liga appearances last term, while he also struck four times and registered seven assists in 13 Champions League outings, as Carlo Ancelotti's side won both trophies during the 2021-22 campaign.
Vinicius still has more than two years left to run on his contract at Bernabeu, but he is believed to be one of the lowest earners at the club despite his importance.
According to Goal, Real Madrid are now 'very close' to reaching an agreement with the South American over a new and improved contract.
The report claims that the deal is 95% completed, with only minor details needing to be addressed before the La Liga and European champions can make an announcement.
As well as improving his salary, it is understood that Vinicius's release clause will also be raised significantly, as Real Madrid look to protect his value.
Vinicius has scored 36 goals and registered 43 assists in 170 appearances for Real Madrid since making the move to the Spanish capital from Flamengo.
A recent report claimed that the proposed new deal could see the attacker triple his salary to around €9m (£7.7m) net per season, which would reflect his importance to the side.
Vinicius scored the only goal of the 2022 Champions League final against Liverpool at the end of May, finding the back of the net in the 59th minute to hand Ancelotti's side a 1-0 win.
"Paris Saint-Germain interested in me? I want to stay at Real Madrid. I'm close to a contract renewal," Vinicius recently told reporters when questioned on his future.
A number of Premier League clubs are also believed to have expressed an interest in the attacker before it became clear that he would be committing his future to Los Blancos.
Real Madrid missed out on the chance to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer this summer, with the France international deciding to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the La Liga giants have completed a big-money summer deal for Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni, while Luka Modric has signed a new one-year contract extension with the club.
There could also be more outgoings at Bernabeu this summer, with Marco Asensio and Ferland Mendy both being linked with permanent moves away from the club. body check tags ::
