West Ham United are interested in signing Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard on a season-long loan, according to a report.
The 17-year-old was billed as the next big prospect in world football last year when joining Los Blancos from Norwegian side Stromsgodset in a £2.5m deal.
Odegaard is still waiting to make his breakthrough at the Bernabeu, however, and could be sent out on loan this season to gain some further playing time.
Squawka reports that the attacking midfielder has selected East London as his preferred destination, with another interested party in Liverpool unwilling to pay his £80,000-a-week wages.
Odegaard, who was handed his full debut by Norway at the age of just 15, could join Swansea City forward Andre Ayew in putting pen to paper at the Olympic Stadium in the coming days as the Hammers aim to bolster their attacking options.
