Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has said that "there is strong competition" to be a part of the Spain squad that travels to the 2018 World Cup.
Spain, who were world champions in 2010, played out a 1-1 draw with Germany on Friday night before thumping Argentina 6-1 in their second international friendly four days later.
Asensio provided two assists during an impressive performance against Argentina, and the 22-year-old is hopeful that he has done enough to convince Spain boss Julen Lopetegui to select him this summer.
"Everybody has a chance for a making the final World Cup and there is strong competition throughout the squad - there is a long list," Cadena Cope quotes Asensio as saying.
"Right now the players are all playing well and effectively, and the month of April is very important for all of us not just personally but for our clubs."
Asensio has scored 10 times in 40 appearances for Real Madrid during the 2017-18 campaign.
