Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has insisted that Iker Casillas remains his first-choice goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old has begun the La Liga season on the bench for Real Madrid, but his national team boss has quelled suggestions that Barcelona's Victor Valdes could be preferred between the sticks for the World Cup next summer.
"Iker Casillas will always have me by his side. Casillas is captain of the side and an important part of our team," he told AS.
Casillas, who has 149 international caps to his name, has not played for Madrid since the start of the year.
