New York Red Bulls have been denied a fourth consecutive MLS win as they were held to a 2-2 draw by San Jose Earthquakes at the Red Bull Arena.
The hosts took the lead in the fifth minute when Kenny Cooper collected Thierry Henry's through ball before he found the bottom corner.
It didn't take long for the Earthquakes to equalise as Rafael Baca lashed the ball past Ryan Meara on 15 minutes.
In an entertaining first half, Dax McCarty put New York back in the lead with his strike after 22 minutes.
However, San Jose responded again before the break thanks to Chris Wondolowski's header from Shea Salinas's cross.
It was a different story in the second half as both sides failed to create many decent chances in front of goal.
Marvin Chavez blasted his shot high and wide for the visitors just after the interval, while Khari Stephenson's effort forced a save from Meara.
Chavez had another shot on goal with 15 minutes left, but the Honduran was again off target.
