New York Red Bulls have eased their way to a comfortable 3-0 victory over DC United in Sunday's Major League Soccer showdown.
It took the hosts until just after the half-hour mark to open the scoring, Lloyd Sam turning the ball in from close range after being picked out by Bradley Wright-Phillips.
After serving as provider for the Red Bulls' opener, Wright-Phillips added his name to the scoresheet in the 42nd minute when he guided Mike Grella's cross into the top corner from inside the box.
The prolific hitman added a third with just over an hour played when Sacha Kljestan sent him clean through on goal, sliding the ball beyond Bill Hamid into the bottom corner.
DC had a handful of chances to add some respectability to the scoreline, coming closest in the 80th minute when Jairo Arrieta's strike was saved at close range, but the Red Bulls came away with a clean sheet.
