Rennes and Evian TG have played out a goalless draw to extend their respective winless streaks in Ligue 1.
The first sight of goal in the match fell to the hosts when Silvio Romero found Abdoulaye Doucoure with a cross, but the Frenchman's effort was denied by Bertrand Laquait.
Laquait was called into action again midway through the half as Romero once again acted as the provider, this time crossing for Tiemoue Bakayoko, whose shot was saved by the Evian keeper.
The hosts had a rare shot on target with just over 20 minutes to go in the game when Nicolas Benezet let fly from the left side of the box, but his effort was comfortable for Benoit Costil.
Rennes immediately responded with a chance of their own at the other end, but Foued Kadir could not beat the keeper with his low effort.
The visitors came within inches of breaking the deadlock in the 77th minute when Olivier Sorlin went for goal from outside the box, beating the keeper but not the post as the ball bounced back off the woodwork.
That was the closest either side came, however, as the match ended as a stalemate.
