Ciaran Clark: 'Republic of Ireland must focus on second leg'

Republic of Ireland defender Ciaran Clark says that his international side must focus on the second leg of their Euro 2016 qualification playoff with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Republic of Ireland defender Ciaran Clark has insisted that his international side must concentrate on the second leg of their Euro 2016 qualification playoff against Bosnia-Herzegovina next week.

Clark's team earned a 1-1 away draw in the first leg this evening, as Edin Dzeko cancelled out a late Robbie Brady strike, and the Aston Villa man believes his international teammates performed well considering the dense fog that blighted the second half.

"It was a good night of work," Clark told Sky Sports News after the match. "It was was very foggy out there - especially in the second half - and when we got the goal with 10 minutes to go we were just trying to hold on.

"That's half the game, we've got to concentrate and get ready for the next game on Monday night.

"We're quietly confident that come Monday night we can get the right result. It's going to be a tough game for both teams, I'm sure."

The Republic of Ireland will host Bosnia-Herzegovina in the second leg of their playoff clash on Monday evening.
