Republic of Ireland assistant coach Roy Keane has warned the squad that Gibraltar will be tough opponents when they meet in Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier.

The minnows are without a point in Group D and have conceded 34 goals during qualifying so far.

Ireland are expected to beat Gibraltar this weekend, but Keane insists that the result is not a foregone conclusion.

"We are obviously away from home and we've seen enough of Gibraltar to understand that if we are not at the races... if we take our eye off the ball, we could slip up, so first and foremost, we have to win the game," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"For us as staff, we obviously want to see goals, but that's up to the players to go out and perform and get the right result, take some momentum into the home game."

Ireland currently sit in fourth place in the Group D table, five points behind leaders Poland.
