Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has suggested that Robbie Keane is preparing to announce his international retirement.
The 36-year-old is his country's record scorer, with 67 goals in 145 appearances in an international career spanning 18 years.
According to O'Neill, Keane will comment on his future in the coming weeks before Ireland get their World Cup qualification campaign underway in September.
"Robbie will make an announcement pretty soon," O'Neill told Sky Sports News.
"I'll leave it to him. He has some time left with LA Galaxy and it might be a case of concentrating on that so I'll let him speak."
Keane could make a farewell appearance when Ireland host Oman in a friendly at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on August 31.
