Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is reportedly planning to make a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given.
Hughes worked with Given at Manchester City and is said to hold the Irishman in the highest regard.
The 36-year-old is currently with the Republic of Ireland squad at Euro 2012 and scored an unfortunate own goal in his country's 3-1 defeat to Croatia last night.
Rangers are concerned that there may be competition for Given's signature and they therefore intend to table a £3m bid for the stopper even though he is currently based in Poland, according to The Sun.
Given moved to Villa Park for a fee of £3.5m last summer and made 32 Premier League starts last season.
