England interim manager Lee Carsley has named Jack Grealish and Levi Colwill in his starting lineup for Saturday's UEFA Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland.

The Three Lions begin their temporary era under the former Ireland international at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, where both sides are aiming for a perfect start in League B Group 2.

With Phil Foden and Cole Palmer withdrawing earlier in the week, Grealish will seemingly start in the number 10 position, with Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka either side of him.

Carsley has also given Chelsea's Colwill the nod in the left-back position amid a defensive crisis in that area, while Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold starts on the right after his midfield struggles at Euro 2024.

Harry Maguire and Marc Guehi will protect Jordan Pickford as John Stones warms the bench, where the uncapped Angel Gomes, Noni Madueke, Morgan Gibbs-White and Tino Livramento also reside.

Ireland head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson will also be taking charge of his first game for the Boys in Green on Saturday, but there is no spot in the hosts' starting XI for Brighton & Hove Albion's Evan Ferguson.

Instead, Ipswich Town's Sammie Szmodics and Celtic's Adam Idah will lead the line, while Everton skipper Seamus Coleman wears the captain's armband in an all-Premier League defence.

Republic of Ireland: Kelleher; Coleman, O'Shea, Collins, Doherty; Ogbene, Molumby, Smallbone, Brady; Szmodics, Idah
Subs: Travers, O'Leary, O'Dowda, Omobamidele, Browne, Ferguson, O'Brien, McAteer, Scales, Knight, Robinson, Parrott

England: Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Maguire, Guehi, Colwill; Rice, Mainoo; Saka, Grealish, Gordon; Kane
Subs: Henderson, Pope, Stones, Konsa, Lewis, Livramento, Gallagher, Gibbs-White, Gomes, Eze, Madueke, Bowen
