Rochdale midfielder Matt Lund has been sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
The 24-year-old recently signed a one-year contract extension with the League One club.
Lund is not expected to be back in action until the middle of September.
"I've resigned myself to being without Matty, but there's no panic to replace him," manager Keith Hill told the club's official website. "We could have the replacement in the building and we'll wait to see what the next couple of games bring out."
Lund has made 63 appearances for the Dale since joining the club from Stoke City in 2013.
