The agent of Roma defender Maicon has admitted that his client is unlikely to represent Brazil again.
The 33-year-old was asked to leave the Selecao squad on Sunday following an incident with the team's general coordinator Gilmar Rinaldi.
It is unclear what actually occurred between the two individuals, but Antonio Caliendo has conceded that Maicon has more than likely played his last game for the five-time world champions.
"Maicon will play a few seasons more yet," Caliendo told Tele Radio Stereo. "Just like [former Brazil captain] Cafu. We know his hobbies outside of the field. Sometimes he has spoken of them.
"However, he is a force of nature at work. And when he quits, I suppose that he will disappear from the world of football.
"I cannot comment on the incident, but I can say that Dunga and Rinaldi are good friends and that if the coach has taken a decision as severe as this, he will not return [to the squad]."
Maicon has made 76 appearances for his country.
