Five Roma players have been sent home after being denied entry into Indonesia as the club continues its pre-season tour.
Seydou Doumbia, Gervinho, Victor Ibarbo, Adem Ljajic and Antonio Sanabria were all denied entry into the country by immigration officers at Jakarta's international airport and had to board a flight to return to the Italian capital.
Roma chief executive Italo Zanzi says that it is "very frustrating" that the players cannot join the club on its very first visit to the country, ahead of their match on Saturday evening.
"It's a real disappointment for us, given that we've made a substantial effort to be here," Zanzi told the club's official website.
"It's not a positive thing for the players, for the club - who did everything that we were asked to do - but, most importantly, for the Indonesian fans because they are why we are here."
It is still unclear why the five players were denied entry, with the Indonesian authorities yet to make a comment on the issue.
