Roma are reportedly very interested in appointing former Serie A winner Maurizio Sarri as their new manager.
The Italian side's current manager Paulo Fonseca has come under a lot of pressure recently, with Roma sitting 11 points off the Champions League positions following defeats to Torino, Cagliari and Parma.
It is suggested that the Portuguese manager's only chance of staying in the Italian capital would be to gain Champions League qualification by winning this year's Europa League with Roma.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma are preparing to appoint Sarri as their new manager if they sack Fonseca, with the 62-year-old's agents planning to travel to Italy to speak to Roma's director of football Tiago Pinto.
Sarri has managed numerous Italian clubs, including Napoli and Juventus, winning the 2019-20 Serie A title with the latter.
Roma are currently preparing for their crucial semi-final first leg in the Europa League against Manchester United this Thursday. body check tags ::
