Roma won their first match in four Serie A games by beating Sassuolo 3-0 this evening.
The Giallorossi took the lead in the sixth minute when Miralem Pjanic's cross found the head of Seydou Doumbia, and the Ivorian directed the ball into the net.
Roma continued to pile on the pressure, with Vasilis Torosidis and Pjanic both sending shots off target.
Alessandro Florenzi doubled Roma's lead in the 28th minute, powering the ball into the top-left corner from the edge of the penalty area.
Nicola Sansone nearly replied for Sassuolo immediately, beating two defenders before seeing his shot saved by Morgan De Sanctis.
Simone Zaza looked to pull a goal back after 59 minutes, volleying towards the right side of the goal, but De Sanctis pulled off a fine save to preserve his clean sheet.
Pjanic put the game beyond doubt with 15 minutes remaining, firing the ball in off the crossbar.
The result sees Roma strengthen their grip on third place, with Sassuolo in 15th in the Serie A table.
