Goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg would like a move to Roma this summer, his agent has revealed.
The Ajax number one, whose current contract expires in June 2012, has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Italian club.
"Maarten would like a move to Roma, otherwise I would not be having talks with this club," Rob Jansen told Voetbal International.
However, the 28-year-old's agent said that talks between the two clubs are not moving forward in the way it was hoped.
"The negotiations are not progressing smoothly," he said.
"The two clubs are some distance apart and but there will be further talks today in Amsterdam. Ajax have not yet set a deadline."
The shotstopper made his international debut in 2004 and has gone on to be capped 40 times for the Netherlands.
