Daniele De Rossi hopes that his teammate and friend Pablo Osvaldo is not sold by Roma this summer.

Roma central midfielder Daniele De Rossi has urged the capital outfit not to sell striker Pablo Osvaldo in the transfer window.

Osvaldo has been linked with a move to the Premier League and De Rossi said that Roma would be losing a top quality player should he go.

"I don't know if I'm optimistic or not when it comes to Osvaldo's future here," Football Italia quotes De Rossi as saying.

"If he leaves then Roma would be losing a very strong player and I will be losing a friend. He's a good guy, on and off the pitch."

Osvaldo has scored 27 Serie A goals since joining Roma in 2011.
