Roma are targeting Mattia Destro as a potential replacement for Fabio Borini, according to Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.

Roma have made an enquiry about Italy Under-21s striker Mattia Destro, according to Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.

The 21-year-old, who is co-owned with Siena, is being tipped as a potential replacement for Fabio Borini, who could be on his way to Liverpool.

"[Roma sporting director Walter] Sabatini has asked me about Destro," Preziosi told asromanews.it. "Next week we will meet Siena to discuss the situation."

Destro, who came through Inter Milan's youth ranks, scored 13 goals in 30 appearances for Siena last season.
