Watford have played out a goalless draw with Russian side Rubin Kazan in their pre-season friendly in Austria.
Lewis McGugan came close early on for Watford with a free kick that went narrowly wide, while Troy Deeney saw his goal correctly chalked off midway through the first half.
Meanwhile, Heurelho Gomes was kept busy at the other end when he was forced to keep out Kamil Mullin's effort.
Watford then came within inches of taking the lead at the start of the second half when Lloyd Dyer's drive crashed off the crossbar, though they struggled to create too many openings after that.
With heavy rain falling in Russia, Deeney had a chance to make the breakthrough late on, but he was denied by the Rubin goalkeeper.
