FIFA has told Russia that they will not be able to play any of their upcoming games with their flag on display or national anthem played beforehand.
As a result of the nation's military invasion of Ukraine, other countries have reacted by refusing to play Russia in the foreseeable future, including the three teams which feature in their World Cup playoff section.
However, at a time when Poland, Czech Republic and Sweden are refusing to compete against Russia, FIFA has stopped short of banning them from international football.
The governing body has instead resorted to revealing plans to move any fixtures to a neutral venue, and their flag and national anthem will not be permitted to feature at the chosen stadium.
As it stands, Russia are due to host Poland on March 24, with the winner facing Czech Republic or Sweden, but it seems highly unlikely that any of those matches will take place on the scheduled dates.
England have also said that they will not entertain any games with Russia. body check tags ::
