Benjamin Corgnet has handed Saint-Etienne a 1-0 lead at the halfway stage of their Europa League playoff second leg against Milsami.
After playing out a 1-1 draw in Moldova last week, it was the Ligue 1 side who made the brighter start in front of their home fans and they threatened early on when Nolan Roux and Corgnet combined before the latter fired over.
The deadlock was broken 15 minutes in when Valentin Eysseric's inviting corner was headed home by Corgnet, who capitalised on poor marking to hand his side the lead.
Saint-Etienne continued to dominate proceedings for much of the first half, but they came close to conceding an away goal when Milsami midfielder Artur Patras tested Stephane Ruffier with a powerful strike.
