Sampdoria advance into the next round of the Coppa Italia after beating Serie B side Brescia 2-0 at home.

Sampdoria have advanced to the next round of the Coppa Italia after beating Brescia 2-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Manolo Gabbiadini opened the scoring on the half-hour mark by converting a penalty to give Sampdoria a 1-0 lead.

Gonzalo Bergessio doubled the hosts' lead in the second half after a mistake led to the easy finish from eight yards out.

The Serie B side were unable to test the Sampdoria defence and failed to register a shot on goal in the 90 minutes.

Sampdoria will face Inter Milan in the round of 16.
