Sampdoria have played out a 1-1 draw with Parma in Genoa in Serie A.
The hosts started the game positively at the Marassi as Gianluca Sansone tested Antonio Mirante in the visitors' goal early on with a free kick.
Sansone came close with another free kick soon after, as Samp began to dominate proceedings.
The home side's pressure eventually paid off on the stoke of half time when Citadin Eder collected a free kick just inside the Parma penalty box and fired home low into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
Parma stepped up their game in the second half and restored parity on the hour mark through Alessandro Lucarelli.
Lucarelli almost scored his second goal of the afternoon minutes later when he took an attempt on goal, but his effort just went over the Samp crossbar.
Eder had two chances later on, but on both occasions he was denied by Mirante.
The 1-1 draw means that Sinisa Mihajlovic's Sampdoria are now four points above the relegation zone, while Parma are eighth.
