A late goal from Giuseppe Rossi proved enough for Fiorentina to beat Sassuolo 1-0 away from home in Serie A.
The first chance of the game fell to Domenico Berardi, whose shot from the left side of the box was turned away by Neto in the fifth minute.
Simone Zaza came close for Sassuolo minutes later, while Domenico Berardi had a chance in the 34th minute as Fiorentina struggled to create opportunities for themselves.
The start of the second half saw the visitors from Florence step up their game with Rossi narrowly missing the target from just yards out after being set up by Josip Ilicic.
Borja Valero was the next Fiorentina player to come close to breaking the deadlock, before Rossi and Massimo Ambrosini saw their respective shots saved by Atalanta goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo.
However, with eight minutes of normal time remaining Rossi broke the deadlock when he fired home from distance.
Ilicic could have made it 2-0 late on when he was released by Rossi and found himself in a good position, but was unlucky to see his shot come back off the post.
