FC Twente scored with 15 minutes remaining to earn a 1-1 draw away at SBV Excelsior.
Twente almost took an early lead through Peet Bijen as his effort was heading in until a finger-tip save from Tom Muyters denied the centre-back.
Jeff Stans had the first real chance for Excelsior as he was left free in the box but the midfielder hit his shot straight at Nick Marsman in the Twente goal.
The home side then went in front thanks to Tom van Weert after Bas Kuipers found him at the back post and the forward tapped home from close range.
Michael Olaitan saw his header well saved by Muyters but moments later, Brandley Kuwas almost extended Excelsior's lead but his long-range strike was denied by Marsman.
Hakim Ziyech equalised late on for Twente after he latched onto a poor back pass from Stans and the winger rounded Muyters before he rolled the ball home to level the scores.
Felipe Gutierrez had a chance late on to win the game for the away side but the Chilean dragged his shot wide of the goal.
The draw means Twente remain in the relegation places in the Eredivisie table while Excelsior move into 12th.
