Schalke 04 captain Benedikt Howedes has admitted that he is prepared to do everything it takes for victory over Borussia Dortmund in Saturday's Ruhr derby.
Howedes said that he was born locally and brought up supporting Die Konigsblauen and wants to experience another victory against Dortmund.
"Anyone who knows me, knows that I was born in the Ruhr and am Schalke lad," he told Bundesliga.com. "I really live these matches and of course will put my body on the line for them.
"Local derbies are always very emotional encounters and that will continue to be the case. I've already played in lots of derbies and won plenty of them. I hope we can do it again this time."
Howedes came through the club's youth ranks and has made 155 league appearances.
