Borussia Dortmund have beaten Schalke 04 3-1 at the Veltins Arena in the Bundesliga this afternoon.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring after 14 minutes before Nuri Sahin's 25-yard effort doubled the lead.
Max Meyer pulled one back for the home side but fellow substitute Jakub Blaszczykowski put the game beyond doubt following a superb assist from Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
See how it all unfolded below.
Schalke have now shipped six goals in two home games though against top class oppoistion and Jens Keller will have been given food for thought in his defensive areas today.
Dortmund were unable to go top as Bayern Munich beat Hertha Berlin 3-2. They fully deserved their win today though, and Jurgen Klopp will be satisfied with his team's display.
Well there you have it, incisive counter-attacking wins it for Borussia Dortmund. Both teams toiled away manfully, but it was BVB who had the greater quality when it really mattered. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was superb and Marco Reus enjoyed a good game too.
Penalty claims from Schalke and they certainly have a point. The ball bounces up on to Subotic's arm from a deep freekick.
Julian Draxler surges into the box and hits a fierce effort at Weidenfeller's near post but the keeper beats it away. He was never overly troubled with that one.
Jermaine Jones plays a wasteful ball forward, and he looks disappointed in himself after that one. There is so much space behind Schalke's defence I wouldn't rule out a fourth here for the visitors.
It's looking like Schalke have had their fightback beaten out of them, Dortmund are comfortable in possession here.
Intricate stuff again from the visitors, Rues and Lewandowski exchange passes before the striker plays in Blaszcykowski who tries to send it back with a low cross, but it is cleared. Mesmerising stuff.

The goal was classic counter-attacking stuff, Klopp's side seemed happy to allow their opponents to attack, but when the time presented itself, turned around and effectively ended the contest.
That could be that, as far as a Schalke fightback is concerned. What a run that was from the Armenia international.
It's the Poland international who scores, but it is owed so much to Mkhitaryan's powerful running. He has picked it up deep in his own half and exploited the acres of space in Schalke's half before dipping back inside and laying in his teammate, who cooly converts.
The game has gone a bit flat since Meyer scored. Not a lot happening at the moment, Dortmund seem content to slow it down and take the sting out of the game.
So close to being a beautiful through ball from Sahin, but Howedes cuts it out at the last minute. Great ivention from the midfielder.
Meyer involved again! this time he plays it in to Boateng, but the Ghana international cannot get a good enough cross in.
It's an instant impact from the substitute! He dances past one inside the area, and feeds Draxler, he is closed down by Subotic and Wiedenfeller, but his shot rebounds to Meyer, who pokes it home into the far corner. Game on!
CHANCE! Best Schalke move of the match, no question. Draxler puts it through to Szalai, but Subotic defends it well and blocks the shot, as it spirals out for a corner for the home side.
Matip loses it on the half way line to the tigerish Mkhitaryan, but it is cleared up before the Armenian can come away with it. That was close for the home side, because there was acres of space behind them.
The traveling Dortmund support are in fine voice, and why not? their team are cruising in the Ruhr derby.
Mkhitaryan threatening again with his direct running. He skips past two before trying to feed Rues on the edge of the box, but it is cleared by Schalke.
Wonderful strike from the Turk. Mkhitaryan runs at the Schalke defence before checking back and feeding Sahin. The left-footed midifielder aims a superb 25-yard effort right into the top corner. Great strike.
The rferee is giving Grosskreutz and Boateng a telling off after a clash, but neither is booked. There was nothing in it really.
Reus releases the pacy Aubameyang down the right, and he looks second best but his sheer speed gets him there first, but Matip wins it back with a well-timed tackle inside the area. Great pace by the forward.
Back to the Rhur derby and Dortmund will be confident of extending their lead in the second half. Schalke haven't threatened as an attacking force at all, other than the penalty.
UPDATE: In the Premier League, Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park this afternoon, despite playing most of the second half with 10 men. Liverpool are leading West Brom 2-0 and Mahchester United trail Stoke 1-0 at Old Trafford.
UPDATE: Mainz are leading Braunschweig 1-0, while Leverkusen are currently being held 1-1 at home to Augsburg.
UPDATE: Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich are being held to a 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin, while Hoffenheim are leading Hannover 2-0.
Boateng will be kicking himself after the miss. He spot-kick was well struck, but it was too close to the goalkeeper. Dortmund have been the better side though, it must be said.
Well, not a classic by any stretch of the imagination, but there has been a decent opening goal from Dortmund and a penalty miss from the home side.
They have only created one or two chances, but there has been a measure of control to Dortmund's play here today, so far.
Dortmund have been the better side here and they are enjoying the ball in areas where they can hurt Schalke. A flash of brilliance may lead to a second here.
Mkhitaryan hit a fierce effort goalwards, but it was well blocked by the Schalke defence. Reus then tries to slide Aubameyang in from a similar position to Sahin's pass for the goal, but the striker steps over it when trying to control it. If he had, he would have been in.
Nice play from Draxler to drive forward and release Uchida, the winger escapes from Subotic, but wants a freekick after going down when taking it around him. Referee waves play on.
Schalke are enjoying a bit more sustained possession in the final third since the penalty, but they will be cursing the miss from Boateng.
PENALTY SAVED Boateng's powerful effort is beaten away by Weidenfeller. It was a nice height for the keeper. A big big chance goes begging for the home side. The BVB players rush to congratulate the keeper.
Fuchs plays a great ball out wide for Szalai on the left, but his cross is overhit and it goes over the bar of Weidenfeller in the Dortmund goal. Another waste in a good position from Schalke.
That's a waste fro Uchida, who loses it high up the pitch with a poor pass that is intercepted. That was a promising move from the home side.
Mkhitaryan releases Lewandowski who scampers clear down the left, but he has to wait for men to get forward. A few step-overs give him the space to deliver a low cross but Schalke clear.
Better from Schalke as they move it around Dortmund's box, but their low cross is cleared, and Boateng fouls Subotic as they try to claim it back.
CHANCE! Lewandowski with some bewitching footwork inside the box to keep hold of it, feeds Schmelzer wide left and his cross his headed goalwards by Aubameyang, but Hildebrand holds on to it.
Dortmund look dangerous again as Lewandowski has options either side of him as Rues and Mkhitaryan make the runs, but he is tackled by a defender after escaping one challenge.
Schalke try to come forward wide on the right, but Uchida gets too eager and fouls a defender to concede a free kick deep into Dortmund's half.
A perfect example of how Dortmund can slice teams open. Lovely movement from Rues, Sahin found him with the pass and it was easy from there as Aubameyang slides in to turn it home for Jurgen Klopp's side.
Sahin flicks a through-ball through to Rues who has men lining up to tap it home on the six-yard box, Aubameyang takes the honour as he stabs home a tap in. 1-0 to BVB.
Good defending by Aogo who intercepts Rues's through-ball for Mkhitaryan. He stepped in and broke the promising attack up.
Lewandowski wins a flick on and releases Rues who hits a dipping left-footed effort, but Hildebrand gets behind it. Decent hit from the BVB playmaker.
Szalai catches a volley from all of 25 yards, but he gets right underneath it and goes miles wide. He is apologetic to his teammates for the waste of possession.
There's the early warning for Schalke, Sahin feeds Lewandowski who finds Rues with a flick round the corner. Rues then finds Grosskretuz who can't get his cross in. Fluid movement from BVB.
Boateng fires in an ambitious 30-yard free kick, but it takes a deflection and bounces up harmlessly.
Neustadter dispossess Lewandowski on the halfway line and releases Boateng but he can't do anything with it.
There are a few early touched for Lewandowski, Mkhitaryan and Reus, as they look to settle into their attacking rhythm.
BVB are back on the pitch and are involved in a team huddle. It looks as though we're ready to get underway.
Strangely, it appears as though the canister was aimed at the stopper by his own fans. Well, I guess we'll have to wait for the kickoff.
KICKOFF DELAYED: Goalkeeper Wiedenfeller has had a flare aimed in his direction and it is currently sitting on the pitch with the fumes emanating from its top.
Jakub Blaszczykowski is only named as a substitute this afternoon. It will interesting to see how BVB operate without the talented Poland international.
Schalke are also looking to make it three league wins in a row today, following their victories over Braunschweig and Augsburg.
We're around 10 minutes away from kickoff at the Veltins Arena, with BVB looking to make it back-to-back wins for themselves in the Bundesliga, and their third on the spin.
Of course, it is always a good day at the office when you're watching Dortmund play, and we could be in for a really entertaining game this afternoon. Dortmund were 2012 Bundesliga champions, and Schalke are also perennially one of the stronger sides in the division.
Bayern Munich are also in action against Hertha Berlin this afternoon, and both teams will be keeping an eye on that result, as it could affect whether or not Dortmund go top, and Schalke could wriggle into the Champions League spots if results go their way too.
So there you have it, plenty of talent on show for both sides this afternoon. Dortmund, of course, have the likes of Lewandowski, Mkhitaryan and Reus in their ranks. Schalke have exciting prospect Julian Draxler in their side. And of course, Kevin-Prince Boateng.
SCHALKE: Hildebrand; Howedes, Kolasinac, Draxler, Aogo, Uchida, Fuchs, Szalai, Matip, Neustadter, Boateng
DORTMUND: Weidenfeller; Grosskreutz, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer; Bender, Sahin, Mkhitaryan, Reus; Lewandowski, Aubameyang
