Gordon Strachan content with USA stalemate

Gordon Strachan admits that Scotland's 0-0 draw with USA was far from a classic, but is content with the result in light of their opponents' form.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has said that he is pleased with his team's result in the 0-0 stalemate with USA at Hampden Park tonight, even if it was not a classic.

The Scots spurned the opportunity to record three straight victories for the first time since 2007 as both teams cancelled each other out throughout a drab encounter in Glasgow.

However, while stating that his side's passing let them down on occasion, the 56-year-old coach says that he cannot be too disappointed due to their opponents' impressive form as of late.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Strachan said: "We have one or two things to work on and we have to work on our final pass or second to last pass.

"We are doing fine retaining the ball, but we have to find these passes. They are up there with Belgium in the physical side. They were big, big boys and to beat them your passing has to be sharper.

"It was not a classic game, but they are a strong side who have won 15 of their last 16 games."

Scotland travel to Norway for another friendly on Tuesday.
