Steven Defour's second senior international goal has given Belgium a 1-0 half-time lead over Scotland at Hampden Park.
The 25-year-old Porto midfielder fired the visitors ahead after 38 minutes of the Group A World Cup qualifier when his right boot connected with Kevin De Bruyne's low cross.
Belgium have been the much better side so far, dominating possession and registering four shots on target, compared to the hosts' none.
However, Scotland did come close when Scott Brown fizzed a 25-yard effort just wide on 33 minutes.
