Scunthorpe United boss Russ Wilcox has revealed that Deon Burton will be out of action for at least one month with a calf injury.
The experienced forward picked up the strain in the 3-3 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge at the weekend, a result that left Scunthorpe in second place in the League Two table.
Wilcox told the club's official website: "We have had some bad news regarding Deon Burton who is going to be out for four to six weeks. He has a little tear in his calf and it is a re-occurrence of the injury he had a couple of weeks ago.
"That is a major blow for the football club because he has been outstanding, he gives us that different option up there. He showed us on Saturday what he is all about with his hold up play, strength and goals."
Burton, 37, joined Scunthorpe from Gillingham in the summer.
