Sevilla have earned a 3-1 victory over fellow La Liga side Espanyol in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fourth-round encounter at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
The home side made the breakthrough after just four minutes as Federico Fazio stooped to head in from a corner.
It took Espanyol until the 69th minute to get themselves level when Christian Alfonso showed great footwork on the edge of the box before firing into the bottom corner.
However, Sevilla regained the lead with seven minutes left on the clock as Juan Torres arrived late to poke home from a corner.
The win was sealed in the final minute when Alvaro Negredo converted from the penalty spot following Ernesto Galan's red card.
The two teams meet for the return leg at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat on November 28.
