Sevilla have revealed that on-loan centre-back Marco Andreolli will miss the remainder of the 2015-16 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon during Saturday's La Liga match against Real Sociedad.
The 29-year-old, who is on loan in Seville from Inter Milan, picked up the injury in the first period of Sevilla's 2-0 defeat at Sociedad.
A statement on the Spanish club's website confirmed the extent of the damage, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for the next eight months.
"Marco Andreolli has ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left foot," revealed Sevilla.
It is currently unclear whether the experienced defender will return to his parent club immediately to undergo treatment.
