Sevilla have revealed that they will give Samir Nasri every chance to prove his fitness ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Spanish champions Barcelona.
Nasri, who joined Sevilla on loan from Manchester City in the summer, suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of his Spanish side's 1-1 draw with Sporting Gijon last weekend.
The 29-year-old had been expected to miss out against Barcelona, but a statement from Sevilla has revealed that the attacker is making progress ahead of Sunday's fixture.
"The positive news on Thursday is that Samir Nasri, despite his injured left hamstring, is not ruled out in order to participate in the meeting on Sunday against FC Barcelona," read the statement.
"The player is performing personalised physical work outside the group and will be given until the last minute. It will be a matter of seeing if he can play or not, considering that after Sunday there will be a break because of the [national] selections."
Nasri has scored three times in nine appearances for Sevilla this season.
