Michael Doyle could return to the Sheffield United side to face Burton Albion in the first round of the League Cup on Tuesday.
The Blades skipper missed the 2-1 win over Notts County on Friday through injury, but it has been reported that the midfielder will be fit for the opening round of the competition.
Tony McMahon has also returned to training following an ankle injury, but is expected to miss out due to lack of match practice.
On-loan Liverpool midfielder Conor Coady should start, however, after appearing from the bench on Friday evening.
