Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has been found guilty of rape and will serve five years in prison while Port Vale defender Clayton McDonald has been cleared of the same charge.
The Wales international was handed the guilty verdict after four hours of deliberation by the jury for raping a 19-year-old woman who was "too drunk to consent" to sex on May 29 last year.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told police that she could not remember the incident that occurred at a Premier Inn hotel near Rhyl last summer.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard during the trial, which began on April 11, that the woman was taken back to the hotel by McDonald where they had intercourse in the early hours of the next day.
Evans, 23, later joined them, where he too had sex with the teenager, while the players' "associate" Jack Higgins and the striker's brother Ryan Roberts watched through a window.
Evidence also showed that Higgins attempted to film the incident on a mobile phone.
