Jos Luhukay: 'Sheffield Wednesday had several chances to score at Swansea City'

Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay believes that his side should have made more of their first-half chances as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Swansea City in the FA Cup.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has bemoaned his side's failure to put away a number of first-half chances in their 2-0 defeat to Swansea City in the FA Cup.

The Owls forced a fifth-round replay against the Swans thanks to a goalless draw at Hillsborough on February 17.

In a tame first half at the Liberty Stadium, Jordan Rhodes forced Kristoffer Nordfeldt into making two saves in quick succession before Lucas Joao also tried his luck to no avail.

Swansea regrouped after the restart and went on to score twice through Jordan Ayew and Nathan Dyer, eventually knocking Wednesday out of the competition.

"I think the first half was in the balance between the two teams, we had two or three chances to score," Luhukay told BBC Sport after the game.

"In the second half we could not give the pressure we like to do and Swansea scored the goal and then it was very difficult to come back into the game.

"We tried after the goal from Swansea, we put on an extra striker, but we could not get in behind because Swansea are strong defensively. They showed good quality."

Wednesday return to action on Saturday with a Championship game away at Bristol City.
