Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has admitted that his side were not at their best during their 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion this evening.
The Owls did enough to book their place in the Championship playoff final with a 3-1 aggregate victory over the Seagulls, who finished 15 points above Wednesday in the league and only missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the regular season.
Carvalhal expressed sympathy for Brighton, but also began to look forward to his side's Wembley appearance and believes that they have a 50-50 chance of winning the richest game in football.
"We fight a lot and run a lot all season. This game is a good example of that. We didn't play our usual game and I think the players were a bit nervous," he told Sky Sports News.
"After what Brighton did this season they don't deserve this moment but that is football. To go to Wembley and play is fantastic. We will be 50-50 in the final but we will fight and do our best."
Wednesday will face either Hull City or Derby County in the playoff final on May 28.
