Jos Luhukay has emerged as a surprise contender for the vacant managerial position at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls have been without a permanent boss since the departure of Carlos Carvalhal, and the likes of Steve McClaren and Andre Villas-Boas have been linked with the role at Hillsborough.
However, according to the Yorkshire Post, former Stuttgart boss Luhukay is being considered by owner Dejphon Chansiri with Wednesday looking to make an appointment as soon as possible.
The club currently sit in 16th position in the Championship table, having won just one of their last 10 fixtures at the second tier.
Luhukay has been out of work since September 2016 but despite his brief spell at Stuttgart, the 54-year-old enjoyed respectable spells at both Augsburg and Hertha Berlin.
Caretaker boss Lee Bullen will remain in charge for Saturday's FA Cup tie at Carlisle United.
