Sheffield Wednesday have secured the signing of teenage midfielder Ryan Croasdale following his release from Preston North End.
The 19-year-old was told that he would be leaving Deepdale last month and now Wednesday have swooped to sign him on a one-year contract.
"He is a very talented and technically gifted player and fortunately for us, he will be with us for the next year, as I know other clubs were interested," Owls academy manager Dean Ramsdale told the club website.
"He is a box to box central midfielder, he's a winner, he's determined and I'm delighted he has signed."
Croasdale made just one appearance for Preston at senior level in last year's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Oldham Athletic.
