New signing Rhoys Wiggins has expressed his excitement about Sheffield Wednesday's potential following his long-awaited move from Charlton Athletic.
Left-back Wiggins finally completed his transfer to Hillsborough on Thursday, two weeks after undergoing his medical with the club, and admitted that he would not have joined unless he was convinced the Owls were aiming for the top.
"It was a big part of me moving up North. I'm a Southern boy so moving up North could be quite daunting," he told The Sheffield Star.
"I wouldn't do it if I didn't feel the club was ambitious. I could easily have stuck with Charlton and seen out my contract, but I wanted to come here, play games and be in a successful side."
Wiggins made 127 appearances for the Addicks, scoring one goal.
